ZUMAIA – Sio-2 High Fire Grogged Grey Clay

High fire grey body with 40% fine grog 0-0.5 mm. Formulated for artistic and decorative ceramics, it is ideal for sculpture and pieces for outdoors (garden pots, tiles, etc.). The high content of grog confers a beautiful textured surface and an excellent behaviour during drying and firing. Depending on the firing temperature, it develops an interesting range of greys, from cement to dark grey, which satisfies the most avantgarde trends in artistic and decorative ceramics. Available in extruded body (moist form). Firing range: 1200-1300ºC; Biscuit temperature: 1000ºC; Water content: 17%; Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 16; Carbonate contente (CaCO3): 0%; Drying shrinkage: 5.5%; Firing shrinkage (1300ºC): 3.9%; Porosity (water absorption at 1300ºC): 2.6%; Dry bending strength: 2.5 N/mm2; Fired bending strength (1300ºC): 37.8 N/mm2; Thermal coefficient (25-500ºC): 59.9x10^-7ºC^-1.
