Manetti Italian Bole in Paste
From17,92 €uni.
Bolo Manetti is a specific type of clay used as a base for gold leaf in the water gilding technique. It is applied to the surface to be gilded, previously prepared with plaster. The cake allows the leaf to adhere to the surface over time and helps to obtain a brighter gold finish during the polishing phase. The surface to be treated must be perfectly clean and smooth. As it contains no glue, it is necessary to add an adhesive substance to the cake. It is therefore advisable to dilute the product in a 1:1 ratio with a solution of 90% water and 10% rabbit skin glue or fish glue. Once mixed, the product can be applied with a brush and the gold leaf can be applied while still damp.
