From23,03 €uni.
Manetti Colorless Shellac is used both to insulate porous surfaces before applying the mordant and to subtly polish and protect the finished gold leaf. Compared to normal shellac, it produces a more transparent and practically colorless result once applied and dried. Soak the shellac flakes in a solution of at least 95% ethanol. After 24 hours, the shellac will have been completely absorbed. Filter the mixture to remove any deposits and impurities that may have formed. The resulting shellac and alcohol solution can be stored for several months in a carefully closed container.
