Artidee Silcoflex HE Silicone Rubber Forming Paste

This soft rubber, solely elastic RTV (vulcanized at room temperature) has a great resistance to tears. It is therefore particularly suitable for shaping complex models and structures including those with significant recesses. It is also possible to make multipart shapes for fast prototypes. With this method it is possible to shape large sculptures, including those with recesses. This silicone is extremely flexible due to its unique composition. Durable skin molds can be created for the production of functional models used in acupuncture, for example. A sandwich technique is used, particularly good for reproducing structures with fragile surfaces. The skin mold, which may only be a few millimeters thick, is usually made by lightly applying on the object the flexible silicone partially mixed with silicone hardener. The hardener in the silicone causes a thixotropic reaction, which prevents this fine material from flowing on vertical surfaces. After curing a thick silicone composition is applied with a spatula to the first silicone film and spread evenly. Another layer may still give the mold more durability and stability. Depending on the shape of the model, thick Silcolane NV may also be appropriate to provide support and stability. The same results can also be obtained with Silcoform HV. All these silicones combine with the previously applied layer to obtain a cohesive mold. Another important application area is possible by blending this silicone with Silcotine HB (heat resistant silicone). This creates a high temperature resistant silicone blend, particularly suitable for the production of more complex molds for pewter modeling (tin alloys). To date it has not been possible to model intricate figures in pewter with highly sculpted shapes because the temperature resistant silicones are very solid and inflexible having molds of three or more parts. An effort that could only be achieved by a few molding professionals. The development of Flexible and Temperature Resistant Silicone means that it is now possible to blend it with heat-resistant silicone and create an elastic mold for brass figures. This allows a return to pewter molding technologies, which can now produce accurate three-dimensional shapes in any desired style. The silicone blend allows short term exposure of up to 380°, which is ideal for modeling with lead, brass and zinc alloy. Flexible silicone is already one of the professional silicones used when it is necessary to reproduce particularly valuable or sensitive models. The flexible silicone comes with a drying agent, a mixing bowl and instructions for use.
